Kai Havertz: Bayern Munich confident of fending off Liverpool and Manchester United to land Germany midfielder

Bayern Munich are confident of beating a series of major European clubs to the signing of Bayer Leverkusen‘s Kai Havertz, as they hope to conclude a deal in the next few weeks.

All of Manchester United, Liverpool and Real Madrid have expressed interest in the 20-year-old attacker, but he currently favours the German champions, who also have the benefit of being at a much more advanced stage of talks than any other club.

Havertz’s brilliant form this season has attracted the attention of pretty much all of Europe’s top clubs, with United, Liverpool and Madrid among those most interested. All see him as a hugely-mobile attacking option, who could fit a number of areas in their teams.

Liverpool had watched him as a potential alternative to their attacking trio, but Bayern look set to beat all opposition.

Leverkusen have meanwhile accepted that Havertz is leaving this summer, and would prefer to conclude a deal quickly in order to rebuild, which also suits Bayern.

The likely cost would be £80m, but Bayern are aiming to complete an ambitious rebuild that cements their place as one of Europe’s best teams. The club hierarchy want to bring in Havertz and Leroy Sane as their statement signings this summer.
